Veterans

We strongly believe in honoring those who dedicated their lives to serve our country. These individuals helped to preserve the freedoms and rights we enjoy today. We honor those who have sacrificed their lives and highlight the achievements of all members of the armed forces.

Most armed forces branches provide an honor guard, a flag, and taps to honorably discharged veterans. At Jefferson Memorial, we have a force of retired volunteer service members who will be on hand during any veteran service so that your loved one is given the respect they deserve.

Our staff will assist in completing all applications for veteran’s benefits to which a veteran or their family are entitled and eligible, once an honorable discharge form is submitted to the funeral home. These benefits may include:

  • 10 free certified copies of the Death Certificate from PA State for the veteran, the veteran’s spouse, and any dependent children.
  • Presidential Memorial Certificate
  • Securing an American flag
  • Receiving full military honors
  • Obtaining a headstone/marker
  • Receiving monetary burial benefits and transportation, if applicable
    • War-time veterans only may receive monetary benefits.
    • The funeral home will provide necessary documents, but the family is responsible to file for monetary benefits

All honorably discharge veterans, as well as their spouse and any dependent children, are entitled to a burial or inurnment in a National Cemetery at no cost to the family. This includes a plot or niche, outer burial container, opening and closing fee, and perpetual care.
